Based in Miami, the Life of Freedom Center is a dedicated community resource that offers free support and restorative programs for female survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Our mission at the Life of Freedom Center is to equip and mobilize communities to combat sex trafficking in their own backyard. We accomplish this by spreading awareness to children about the dangers of sex trafficking, making communities safer thru regular outreach and surveying for activities that are suspect of sex trafficking and most importantly, to increase opportunities for the healing of all survivors of sex trafficking from physical, psychological and spiritual wounds and live a life of freedom from further abuse and exploitation.

We draw encouragement from II Corinthians 3:17, “…where the Spirit of the Lord is found, there is freedom” in working closely with churches and other community partners so clients can access quality resources and support within their immediate community.

Blog and Support Info for Jorge Veitia and Family

Jorge Veitia is an anti-human trafficking advocate, founder and executive director of The Life of Freedom Center.

Veitia first began working on behalf of at-risk children in the late 90’s, first as a Guardian ad litem representing the interests of children in the State’s foster care system and then in 2008 as a live-in houseparent for a local foster care agency where he cared for more than 100 at-risk children from South Florida, Haiti and various countries in Central and South America.

During this time he learned about international and domestic child sex trafficking and the need for specialized services to help survivors safely recover and live a life free of further abuse and exploitation.

Since August 2011, Veitia has been working solely on mobilizing community groups and members to combat sex trafficking by: actively protecting children from sex trafficking by spreading awareness and helping rescue the exploited by conducting regular outreach through the Sharing One Love program and increasing opportunities for healing by offering dedicated support and resources for survivors at the Life of Freedom Center in Miami, FL.

Through these programs Veitia has completed hundreds of hours of outreach in the community and served more than 100 women and children in South Florida that have are at-risk of being enslaved by sex trafficking.
